About us
What we do.
We are a local community Craft Studio and Retail Unit based at The Hive Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster. Whether you are just starting out on a hobby or you have been creating craft items for decades, we offer you the opportunity to try something new through supported workshops, individual appointments and social gatherings.
Our community is important to us and we are passionate about their wellbeing, our ethos is to combat isolation, support anxiety and stress using the medium of arts and crafts.
We offer Pottery Painting, Weekly Arts and Craft Sessions/Workshops, Tutorials of how to upcycle furniture, glass and bottle decorating, cardstock and themed seasonal craft events and much much more.
More than Just a Craft Workshop
Our staff are always on hand to offer advice and assist with any help you may need to complete a project.
Our retail area stocks many Handmade Items and displays goods for sale from local ‘Crafters for a Purpose’. These are crafters who are making and selling items to support their physical and/or mental health.
Groups Workshops, Parties and Events
We host Group Workshops and Parties, please see individual section below for more detail. Working in partnership with other organisations is also important to us either here at our own premises or at other locations.
The Hive is made up of several independent retailers all offering something different from each other. We are located at Unit 4 with lots of FREE parking available for long and short stay customers as well as a carpark solely designated for blue badge owners and disabled parking needs.

£160 minimum spend
1 hour 30mins private booking
- Up to 10 attendees, a responsible adult must be present at all times
- A set selection of pottery, more expensive items can be added at an agreed price
- A party keepsake gift with guests fingerprints on it, fully guided session
- Bring your own birthday food and drinks, although refreshments
- Fired and glazed pottery, ready for collection within 2 weeks
- £50 deposit to secure booking, balance paid on the day
- Price may vary evening and Sundays.
Prosecco Paint a Pot
£220 minimum spend
2hrs private booking
- Max 10 attendees x 2 hour private evening booking
- Bookings vary, choose a start time from 5pm, we close at 9pm
- Prosecco and nibbles on arrival (BYO tipple & food if you wish)
- Step by step guidance from our friendly staff
- Wide choice of items to choose from
- Fired and glazed pottery, ready for collection within 2 weeks
- £50 deposit to secure booking, balance paid on the day
- You can pre-dress the room up to reflect your party theme.
Take Away Parties
From £16 per person for 8 or more painters
- Choose Kids, Teens or Adult themed pottery items, 10 basic paint pots, brushes and sponges, then take it all away to host your own party at home. More expensive items will be charged as an additional agreed cost as will higher value pots of paint
- £25 deposit required to book ‘a selection and collection date’ – remainder paid on collection
- Get creative at your home pottery party then return the pottery pack and painted pots to us for glazing and firing
- Ready for collection within 2 weeks of being returned.
